WHAT’S REIKI
HISTORY OF REIKI
Reiki became popular in Japan in the 1920s. Mikao Usui, a devoted Buddhist, introduced the practice. Reiki is not bound by religion and is open to everyone, regardless of their beliefs or culture. It is a practice that can be shared with both people and their pets. Reiki believes that everyone has natural energy within them that can be awakened and used for healing and spiritual development.
The word “reiki” means “Rei”, soul or sacred spirit. It is the highest intelligence that connects with all the known wisdom of the universe. “Ki” is the energy that flows through every living thing.
WHAT IS REIKI FOR DOGS?
Animals sense the energy, the “Ki” of your thoughts, words and feelings, and you need to be aware of whether your personal energy or that of your home is fostering or depleting their energy, as your dog will absorb it. Reiki uses the hands as a means of transmitting positive and good energy from the universe to heal or rebalance the body’s energy and chakra system. It is a non-intrusive treatment that works to heal ailments in the physical, emotional and spiritual body of the pet; canine misbehavior is also healed with Reiki. It may take a few sessions before you begin to see results.
Supplement, Not Replacement
Many report positive effects on their pet’s overall health and disposition with the use of Reiki. Others have stories that offer hope for reduction of chronic pain, even reversal and remission of serious medical problems.
However, the application and results of Reiki are not a substitute for routine veterinary care, nor are they a reason to forego necessary medicine or medical procedures. It offers non-invasive assistance that serves as a loving line of defense for your pet, but don’t pin all hope on a single practice: even in healing sessions for sick animals, masters explain that it can only alleviate an inevitable demise.
In healthy animals it helps induce relaxation, peace and energy purification.
Energy flows in our bodies constantly, directing any negative enegy out is key to improving the general well being of your best furry friend.
Benefits of Reiki
Your dog’s body and mind are connected to the world and energy around them. Reiki is a great complementary healing therapy that treats the whole being, not just individual parts of the body. Reiki helps to restore health in a gentle and relaxing way, by realigning the “Rei” with the “Ki”.
